Eco-eyewear is available in New Zealand and some options to explore for your next pair of spectacles could include frames made of wood, aluminium, biodegradable cotton-acetate, and 3D-printed from bioplastics.

Donate your usable pre-loved spectacles to the Recycle For Sight programme. The local Lions Club has collection boxes at both Wanganui Eyecare Centre, and Specsavers.  

Goldsbury Visique Optometrists is also happy to receive single vision, usable spectacles for its long-standing recycling programme.
