Reduce the need for plastic toothpaste tubes by buying tooth tablets, toothsoap or making your own in a recyclable jar.

Plastic toothpaste tubes can be cleaned, the bottom edge snipped and refilled with home-made toothpaste.

They can also be used to pipe icing onto baked goods.

Toothpaste tubes can be recycled at the Whanganui Resource Recovery Centre in the oral products wheelie bin. 

Keep plastic toothpaste tubes from landfill where they will not biodegrade.
