Broken CFL bulbs need care when cleaning up and disposing of. Read this National Poisons Centre article for useful advice.
CFL stands for Compact Fluorescent Light bulb. CFLs are a type of Energy-Efficient Light bulb (EFL).
CFLs are a good choice as they use one-quarter of the electricity of a regular incandescent light bulb, they cost less over the lifetime of the bulb and produce less environmental pollution.
See light bulb for ideas on how to reduce use.
CFL light bulbs are collected at the Whanganui Resource Recovery Centre for recycling. Please ask a staff member on the forecourt where to place your light bulbs.
