Cotton Thread, Reel

Plastic thread reels and cones with polyester thread are best kept out of landfill. Please consider donating to crafters for reuse.

If you have cotton thread and reels you will not use, consider donating to the ReUse Academy at the Whanganui Environment Base or a secondhand/charity shop. If you have a quantity of thread, you may be able to on-sell it.

Wooden, cardboard or plastic thread cones and reels can be used in crafts. Here's an idea for a hanging mobile and more for wooden cotton reel crafts.

The larger cardboard thread reels and cones can be recycled. Take to the Whanganui Resource Recovery Centre.

Please keep plastic from landfill as much as possible.
